Mannal Al Hammadi
The Irregulars

Manal is a young and passionate Emirati author based in Abu Dhabi. A creative spirit, she has worked on a range of exciting projects over the years—from entrepreneurship camps to stop-motion animation—and is a devoted fan of theatre and the arts. A lifelong admirer of the Harry Potter series, Manal dreams of joining a Creative Arts program at New York University.

Her inspiration for this teen horror story came from R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series—fun, spine-tingling tales perfect for young readers and families alike.

She hopes you enjoy her story… but whatever you do, don’t forget to leave the lights on!

From inside the book
“Wait, I have an idea, let's play tag”, they were confused but they trusted me, so we played tag, three irregulars spotted us playing, and they slowly started transforming back to children, then I told them I found out how to change them back, one of the children said “by playing?”, I said “No, by doing things children like”, so we each started playing in the park, a great amount of irregulars started walking towards us, and slowly they began to be regular (but special) children again.

From inside the book

She reached out to see it better and she noticed that inscribed on the wand there was a little note that said:
“Shake me and blink”. So with a shake and a blink, before she could even realise what was happening, Aseel was instantly transported to a mysterious place... a beach!
Her mother was gone and the whole beach was empty.
A strange looking man appeared, he was wearing a hat and looked like one of the pirates that she had learned about in school.
